Brittany was born and raised in San Diego. She was first introduced to yoga at 19 years old when she was student at UC Davis. As a NCAA Water Polo athlete, she found yoga was a great balance from her intense workouts. She gravitated towards the sense of being present and enjoyed the connectedness she felt on the mat. She carried yoga with her throughout her years; may it being living abroad (teaching surfing in Costa Rica, or playing water polo in Australia) or working in the nonprofit sector of San Diego.
Brittany has a regular practice throughout the wonderful studios of San Diego County. One studio in particular that she immediately loved was Yoga One. Brittany found Yoga One when she was running a local non-profit down the street from the studio. They generously supported her young students with yoga and guidance. When Brittany found out about Yoga One’s teacher training in 2013, she had to take it! From the teacher training and beyond, Brittany has gained so much insight, joy, understanding and community at Yoga One.
Brittany is a part time nonprofit consultant, full time mom, and looks at teaching with as much as a joy as her students do. If she is not working or running around after her daughter, you will find Brittany surfing with her husband, next to you at a yoga studio, walking her pup Jack Murphy and enjoying time with her family. What you will encounter at Britt’s class? A good playlist, friendship with your fellow yogis, a chance to play, and the joy a feeling your breathe.
