Vinyasa Flow Yoga (Interdisciplinary)

Ideal for aspiring teachers and serious students,
who want to deepen their understanding of yoga.

Fridays 7-9 pm, Saturdays 12:30-5:30 pm, Sundays 1-5:30 pm

Topics include:

  • Asanas--alignment, adjustments, sequencing and benefits of approximately 30 postures appropriate for beginning and continuing students.
  • Anatomy & physiology--muscle & joint functions, injury prevention & modifications, use of props
  • Philosophy & history--sacred texts including the yoga sutras as well as applications in a modern context
  • Pranayama & meditation--basic practices and variations, benefits
  • Teaching methodology--class safety, ethics & qualities of a teacher, practice teaching, opportunities to lead community classes at Yoga One following completion of course
  • Unlimited yoga classes at Yoga One for 6 weeks (existing EFTs can be frozen)

Instructors:
DIANA BEARDSLEY is a renowned Los Angeles based yoga instructor, who has been studying and practicing yoga since 1975, and teaching since 1985. She has trained with Ganga White, Anna Forrest and John Friend, practicing Anusara, Iyengar, Vinyasa and flow yoga styles. Diana was the Director of Teachers Training at the Center for Yoga in LA from 1985 to 2003 and has trained more than 1000 teachers

AMY CALDWELL has dedicated herself to the practice, study and teaching of yoga since 1997 and has trained in the disciplines of Ashtanga with Tim Miller and BNS Iyengar, Sivananda with Swami Sivanand and Iyengar with Roger Cole and Jo Zukovich. She and her husband Michael opened Yoga One in 2002 which emphasizes breath-based flow yoga balanced with alignment. Amy has twice been featured on the cover of Yoga Journal, the leading yoga publication in the country.
